Reply DeleteIn all honesty Tustin, I modified someone elses story to suit my needs (with permission). But I've modified that story so much there isn't much of the original left, lol. I have other stories coming that I've done myself though. The way I do it is I write up an outline of the story...kinda build up the skeleton of it, and then just flesh it in. Another important thing for me is to write, then walk away from it for a few days. When I feel fresh I re-read it and edit and enhance. If I do that three or four times it comes out much much better. If I rush it and post, it never is as good as it should be.

There is of course much discussion as to whether or not the lioness pair should now be destroyed. However the vast majority of people have commented saying that they should not be destroyed, and that the man essentially got what was coming to him.
A zoo employee posted anonymously, and addressed some of the questions, and clarified some inaccurate points made by other posters. She also provided her own feelings on the incident. I have copied it below.

2. Yes, they often "play" with their live food before starting to eat it.

7. Yes lions/lionesses (like lots of animals) will go for the softest, most vulnerable areas first. If needed, that would be the neck/throat, but in a situation where they are not threatened by the prey, they will usually go for the genitals.
8. No, the younger lioness did not begin eating the man right away. These animals are well fed, so would not immediately see the man as food.
9. Yes, the younger lioness did "roughly play" with the man's genitals for nearly 15 minutes. She did in fact lick, paw, nuzzle, and pull at his genitals. This is common in nature as well when a lioness, or group of lionesses brings down a male animal, and the reasons would be the same. Scent, source of protein, and in this case, probably curiosity.
